Overview

A furniture brand that needed a site as considered as its product.

Partisan makes furniture meant to last — solid materials, working with independent designers, pieces sold with the expectation that they'll outlive a five-year renovation cycle. The site needed to carry that same weight: not a generic catalog template, but something that felt as deliberate as the furniture itself. I built the site from the ground up — design and development — and have stayed on as the person responsible for it since. A year in, we're still working together: ongoing maintenance, SEO, and new features as the catalog grows.

Challenge

The brief.

A full e-commerce catalog — sofas, tables, chairs, beds, storage — with product pages detailed enough to sell furniture that costs real money without the buyer touching it first. Fabric options, dimensions, designer credits, a showroom booking flow, and a pre-order form that collects delivery details upfront. Built on Tilda, by client preference — the team needed to manage inventory and content themselves without depending on a developer for every catalog update.

Approach

Letting the furniture be the interface.

The product itself is the argument — the design had to get out of the way of it. Large product photography, minimal chrome around it, typography that reads as considered rather than decorative. Each product page carries the same structure: the piece, its designer, the materials, and enough configuration (fabric, size, finish) to make a real decision without a showroom visit. Designer credit on every product — a detail that matters for a brand built on original design work, not mass manufacturing.

Research

What the numbers say.

150–200 visitors a day, most of it organic search. Around 15 orders a month — for furniture where a single order can be a meaningful purchase, not an impulse buy. 5.0 rating across 89 reviews on Yandex Maps, the primary local review platform — reviews that consistently mention the ordering experience, materials, and on-time delivery. That's the client's service holding up, but a site that doesn't get in the way of a considered purchase decision is part of what lets that service convert.

Design Solutions

What's included, ongoing.

This isn't a one-time build. The retainer covers:

Maintenance

Catalog updates as new pieces launch, fixes, uptime.

SEO

The site currently pulls organic traffic that converts. Search-driven visitors land on category and product pages already looking for a specific type of piece, not just browsing the homepage.

New features as the business grows

The pre-order flow, showroom booking, and expanded filtering were added after launch, not part of the original scope.

Outcome

A year of iteration.

A site built once and left alone doesn't hold up for a business that keeps adding products and refining what sells. The relationship here isn't "build and disappear" — it's closer to being the person who knows this codebase well enough that a new feature request doesn't require re-explaining the whole site from scratch. That's what the retainer actually buys: not just uptime, but continuity.
